2GIS for business: how to build a listing that brings in customers
2GIS is a map and business directory that almost everyone in Kazakhstan uses to look up addresses, phone numbers, opening hours and reviews. For a business, a 2GIS listing is a free shop window: someone searches for «матрасы рядом» ("mattresses near me") or «ремонт кровли» ("roof repair") and picks from the companies they see on the map.
The query «2ГИС» ("2GIS") is typed into Google in Kazakhstan about 246,000 times a month (Google Ads data, October 2026), and that only counts people looking for the service itself through Google. Below is what to do so that 2GIS brings you calls and messages.
What your listing should include
- An exact address and entrance. Landmarks, the floor, where to park. People shouldn't have to call you just to find you.
- Phone and WhatsApp. Many people don't call, they message. A WhatsApp link right in the listing removes an extra step.
- Opening hours. Wrong hours are a common cause of bad reviews: someone drives over and finds you closed.
- Categories. List all your types of business: 2GIS uses them to show you in search.
- Photos. The entrance, the storefront, your products, your work. A listing without photos loses to the competition next door.
- Website and Instagram. That's where people will check your prices and examples of your work.
You can edit your company listing through the 2GIS for business account or through 2GIS support.
Reviews: what customers look at
Next to your company name, customers see your rating and the number of reviews. Here's what works:
- Ask for a review after a good sale. Do it right away, while the customer is happy, with a link in WhatsApp.
- Reply to every review. Thank people for good ones; answer bad ones calmly and to the point. Future customers read your replies.
- Don't buy reviews. Fake reviews give themselves away with identical wording, and they undermine trust.
Genuine reviews are useful on your website too. For the "Mir Matrasov" mattress factory, we moved 142 reviews from 2GIS to their website: that builds trust with both shoppers and search engines.
Mir Matrasov
- A new site in place of the old one, with every Google page kept
- Three languages and pages for 11 cities
- Every enquiry goes straight to amoCRM

Your listing, your website and advertising
2GIS brings in people who are already searching nearby. To be found in Google and in ChatGPT answers as well, you need a website prepared for search and AI answers. And to reach people who aren't searching yet, you need Instagram ads with a WhatsApp button.
Frequently asked questions
You can add and fill out a company listing for free. Advertising on 2GIS is paid: it moves your company higher and makes it stand out on the map.
Usually not. If a review breaks the 2GIS rules, you can report it. It's better to reply calmly and explain how you solved the problem.
Send the customer a link to your listing right after the purchase and briefly ask them to rate you. Many people leave a review if you simply ask.
2GIS shows where you are and how to contact you. A website shows why people should choose you: prices, your work, answers to their questions. They work best together.
