WhatsApp Business: how to set it up so messages turn into sales
WhatsApp Business is WhatsApp's free app for companies. It has a business profile, a catalog, quick replies, an auto-reply and labels for customers. For the buyer it's the same WhatsApp, but for you it's a working sales tool.
In Kazakhstan, people search Google for «ватсап бизнес» ("whatsapp business") about 4,400 times a month, for «whatsapp business» about 3,600 times, and for «whatsapp business web» about 2,400 times (Google Ads data, October 2026). Many people install the app but use it like an ordinary messenger. Let's look at what to set up so messages turn into orders.
How it differs from regular WhatsApp
| Regular WhatsApp | WhatsApp Business | |
|---|---|---|
| Profile | name and photo | address, opening hours, description, website |
| Product catalog | no | yes |
| Quick replies | no | yes |
| Greeting and "away" message | no | yes |
| Customer labels | no | yes |
You can keep the same number: when you switch to WhatsApp Business, your chats are saved.
What to set up on day one
- Profile. Address, opening hours, a short description and a link to your website or Instagram. A customer should understand right away who you are.
- Catalog. Your main products or services with photos and a "from" price. When someone asks "how much is it?", you send a card instead of typing it all again.
- Quick replies. Prices, address, delivery, payment: common answers come up in a second with "/".
- Greeting and "away" message. At night, a customer isn't left in silence but sees when you'll reply.
- Labels. "New", "Thinking it over", "Awaiting invoice", "Paid". This way no customer gets lost in your chat list.
From a computer
On a computer, WhatsApp Business opens in the browser (WhatsApp Web) or in the desktop app. This is handy when a manager handles the replies: there's no need to keep the phone at hand all day.
Where the messages come from
A well set-up WhatsApp doesn't bring orders by itself; you need a flow of people. The fastest way to get it is Instagram and Facebook ads with a WhatsApp button: a person sees a video, taps "Send message" and lands straight in your chat. You don't need a website for this kind of ad.
An example from our campaigns: over 107 days of ads, 4,034 people messaged the "Mir Matrasov" factory on WhatsApp, and one inquiry cost $0.50 on average.

Instagram and Facebook ads: people tap a button and message on WhatsApp right away.

When the messages pile up
If dozens of people write every day, one phone can't keep up. Then WhatsApp is connected to a CRM so every inquiry goes into a customer card, or an AI assistant is set up: it answers common questions day and night and hands the manager a ready inquiry.
Frequently asked questions
The app is free. What can cost money is the advertising that brings customers, and connecting to a CRM through the official WhatsApp channel.
Yes. Your chats and contacts are saved, and customers write to the same number.
One number can be used from the phone and from several linked devices, for example your managers' computers.
If you reply to people who wrote to you first, the risk is minimal. Numbers get blocked for mass messages sent to people who never contacted you.
Let's launch ads that get people messaging you
We'll shoot the videos, launch ads with a WhatsApp button and set things up so no message gets lost. Leave a request below and we'll estimate how many inquiries you can get in your niche.
